Thayer Family History
I have begun with some of the earliest settlers. Most of my Thayers lived in and around Burnett County Wisconsin at one time or another throughout their lives. My grandfather Elwin Freeman Thayer is a direct descendent of Richard Thayer from England who's grandson, Nathaniel Thayer born:1640, came to this country in about 1670 and settled in Tauton, Mass. My Great Grandmother Cora Stanchfield Jordan has a line that traces back to Nathaniel's father.
