LUSHBAUGH, George (ca 1815) HUSBAND -- George Lushbaugh, son of John Loushbough (ca 1779) and Susanna. His year of birth estimated as though he was 25 at time of marriage in 1840. He married in Marshall County, Indiana; records of the period 1836-1850, on 14 May 1840; marriage performed by John A. Loshbaugh, Justice of the Peace. WIFE -- Margaret Merritt. Both parents died when Jeremiah, the youngest child, was four or five years old, making year of death about 1849. (1) Mary Lushbaugh, b. Ohio ca 1841 (ae 9-1850). Died 1904/05 in Ft. Scott, Kans.; md. first -Alexander Fields; was married a second time - don't have name. (2) Jeremiah Lushbough b. 19 Feb. 1844, St. Joseph county,Ind. (Or, b. date also reported to be 16 Dec. 1844). It has been reported the family spoke German, as did other Loshbough families in Berrien co., Mich., just a few miles from the folks in St. Joseph County, Ind. The parents of Jeremiah and Mary died when the children were young - Jeremiah 4 or 5 years of age. They were placed under guardianship with their grandfather.
