Anna Decker's and Henry's parents listed in St. Joseph Parish records, Bertrand, now at library archives at University of Notre Dame. Marriages recorded: Joseph (recorded as George), MR Book B, p. 92, Berrien Co., Michigan; Maria Louisa, MR Book B, p. 93; Martha Jane, MR Book B, p. 372 (also Stineback bible); Cornelia, MR Book C, p. 546. Marriages also listed in "A Day to Remember" #60, p. 20. He died having no will, Mr. Valentine Haas of Betrand Twp. appointed administrator. Obituary of Henry Loshbough, from "The Niles Democrat," published Saturday, August 18, 1882: "Another of the pioneers of this county has gone to his final rest. He closed his earthly career on Wed., Aug. 26, at his residence three miles south of this city. Mr. Loshbough was born in Union Cty., Pa., on the 13th day of Mar. 1800. He came to Michigan and settled on the farm upon which he died in 1836, having purchased the land from the Government, and has resided there since. He was a good citizen, strictly honest and honorable in all his life long dealings with his fellow men, and possessed the confidence and good will of all who knew him or had any dealings with him. He leaves an aged widow and a family of grown children to mourn the loss of a kind husband and indulgent father. His many friends throughout the county will be sorry to learn of his death, not withstanding he had far outlived man's allotted time upon this earth. His earthly troubles are over and his spirit is happy in the land of the blessed." When Henry's wife died the probate record of 23 Sept. 1891 lists the following heirs: John D., 60, Big Spring, Iowa; Elizabeth E. Johnson, 64, St. Joseph, Mich.; Mary L. Anderson, 62, Des Moines, Iowa; Francis H., 57, St. Joseph, Mich.; James A., 55, Niles, Mich.; Martha J. Steinback, 53, South Bend, Ind.; Wm J., 51, Englewood, Ill.; Albert D., 45, Riverton, Nebr. (Note that Joseph Perry, living in Nebraska, not shown as an heir.) Death date and parentage of Anna Decker obtained from Parish Register and from Notre Dame Univ. Memorial Library. My Note: Joseph Perry and his wife were married by a Justice of the Peace. It appears that the Loshbough was strongly Catholic. If so, it is quite likely that Joseph Perry (if he was their son) was disinherited because of marrying outside the' church. HENRY LOSHBOUGH 1800 Henry born 13 March in White Deer Twp., Northumberland County, Pennsylvania to John Loshbough and Martha Loshbough (Lushbaugh). 1813 White Deer Two.. became a Dart of Union County, Pennsylvania. 1820's Married to Anna Decker in Pennsylvania 1837 Henry received a patent to 40 acres adjoining his fathers 80 acres in Marshall County, Indiana on 27 May 1837.
