Jackson of Stanstead

The ancestor of this family in Ireland came from Yorkshire in Cromwell's Army, and was granted lands in co. Carlow for his services. This estate, called Mount Leinster, was sold in 1745 by his descendant George Jackson, who settled at Urker, Crossmaglen, co. Armagh.
