Children of Jason Brinson and Jemima Unknown are:
97 i. Jason J.8 Brinson, born April 1845 in Screven County, Ga; died Bet. 1920 - 1925 in Emanuel County, GA. He married Lucinda Rushington January 28, 1869 in Screven County, Ga; born Unknown; died Bet. 1886 - 1900 in Emanuel County, GA.
Notes for Jason J. Brinson:
I have found several references in the Dixon Hollingsworth card files that prove Jason J. Brinson is the son of Jason Brinson and Jemima Unknown.
The records of the Mormon Church have on file the record of Jason's birth and refers to him as Jason Brinson, Jr. Film #1239556, page 437, ref 9174. His marriage to Lucinda Rushington is on Batch A456582.
The records of Screven County, GA Marriage book C line 221 shows Jason J. Brinson married Lucinda Rushington on Jan. 28, 1869.
According to Rufus Garner a son-in-law, Jason told him that he (Jason) was a mailman in the War Between the States. He was almost shot several times but rode low in the saddle and bullets whizzed over his head. I have not found a record of his service yet.
The Emanuel County 1900 census shows the following:
Brinson, Jason, White, Male, born Apr, 1845, age 55,
widower (Lucinda died between 1886-1900.)
Brinson, Ginnie, daughter, born May 1882, age 18
Brinson, Junie, daughter, born Jun 1886, age 13
Williams, Susan, daughter, born Aug 1871, age 28, widow
Williams, Paul, grandson, born Mar 1891, age 9
Williams, Lucinda, Grandaughter, born Aug 1893, age 6
Williams, Jesse, grandson, born Apr 1895, age 5
When Jason's daughter, Eliza married Thomas T. Howard in 1895, the bible record shows both of them as being from Butts, GA. Butts is in Jenkins County south of Millen on Highway 17.
The Emanuel County, GA census of 1920 lists Jason J. Brinson is living in the household of Tom T. Howard with his daughter, Eliza and her family. He is listed as 76 years old, widower, occupation is cabinet maker. He could read and write.
Notes for Lucinda Rushington:
There is some question about the name. Jason Brinson's marriage to Lucinda Rushington is on Batch A456582 at the Latter Day Saints archives. On the burial records of their daughter Gracie Brinson Lariscey her parents are listed as Jason Brinson and Rachel Rustin. On their daughter, Eliza's death certificate her first name is not listed, her last name is listed as Rushton. Since the official marriage book for Screven County shows her as Lucinda Rushington, that is the name I will use.
The 1900 and 1910 Emanuel County, GA census lists a Rachel Lariscey, widow as the mother of the head of household, John Lariscey. That is probably where the name Rachel was taken by mistake.
98 ii. John H. Brinson, born Bef. 1849.
Notes for John H. Brinson:
John H. Brinson is found on Dixon Hollingsworth card #49 dated July 30, 1866 dividing the lands of Jason Brinson, deceased.
99 iii. Susan Brinson II, born Bef. 1849.
79. John7 Brinson, Sr. (Adam6, Isaac5, Adam4, John E.3, Thomas2, Robert1) He married Martha Vickers.
Notes for John Brinson, Sr.:
The information about John Brinson is taken from an article in a book on Screven County families written by Emma Jean Brinson Ward.
John was the youngest son of Adam Brinson of Onslow County, NC. Joun settled in the south-central section of Burke County that is in present day Jenkins County. John and his second wife, Martha helped constitute Little Buckhead Baptist Church on July 4, 1835. They raised a family of ten sons and four daughters.
Notes for Martha Vickers:
Martha's last name was found on Lynn Cheeks Brinson Cemetery list.
Children of John Brinson and Martha Vickers are:
100 i. William8 Brinson I, born Abt. 1802; died Abt. 1849. He married Nancy Kilpatrick.
Notes for William Brinson I:
The information about William Brinson is from the Dixon Hollingsworth card #3200 in the Screven County Library.
