Biography*19 Mar 1981 Ila Jordan and T. C. Kenady have a daughter who graduated from Samford University, 29 May 1971.

The following is from The Lineville Tribune for 19 Mar 1981: Quilt Maker The very young in every generation think that anyone thirty years of age is ready for palsy lessons or is in training for thumb-twiddling tournaments; they feel very certain that time of life will never come to them. By the time the later middle years attack, these same people begin to eagerly look forward to that Promised Land of Retirement. Very often those whom society politely calls "Senior Citizens" find that retirement is not such a blessed land as promised and begin to believe that to retire from the work force means to retire from life. This is certainly not the attitude of Mrs. Ila Kenady of Mellow Valley. Here is a lady in her 70's and enjoys life as if she were an energetic 25-year-old, and she is filled with as much enthusiasm for life as a teenager. She has many hobbies, mostly making quilts since she retired from forty years of teaching, thirty-four of them in the Mellow Valley Elementary School. She likes to talk about her pupils who are now doctors, ministers, lawyers, social workers, teachers, musicians, etc. After Mr. and Mrs. Kenady retired they built a cabin and a pond on the childhood home farm of Mrs. Kenady and her late parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Jordan. Now they renewed their favorite hobbies. He gardens in a "giant" way and loves to divide with friends, especially the elder citizens, which displays his motto: "Love thy neighbor as thy self." She crochets and makes batting as well as making quilts. They enjoy the fireplace heat on cold winter days and are delighted to entertain many friends who visit them there. She also says she tries to keep her body and mind limber to be able to drive the three-hour trip to Scottsboro to visit daughter Elhura and husband. They contribute their health and years of 74 and 76, respectively, to: (1) Eating plenty of his fresh vegetables; (2) Eating three regular meals daily; (3) Getting required hours of sleep; (4) Being happy at their work. He boasts that he has never been under a doctor's care! But he has visited the grocer's drug counter after Mrs. Kenady diagnosed his case, "Walking Pneumonia", a few times. Her community knows she is very conscious of others' needs and reaches out in many ways to help others.
Death*5 May 1994 She died at Marshall Co., Alabama, on 5 May 1994. She resided continuously in Clay County until 3 months before her death in 1994..1
Burial*say 8 May 1994 Her body was interred say 8 May 1994 at Mount Gilead Methodist Cemetery, Sikesville, Clay Co., Alabama.2
