The following obituary is from an unknown source: Mrs. Eunice M. Jordan, 84 Mrs. Eunice McEachern Jordan, 84, passed away at Sumiton, Alabama, June 5, 1980. Funeral services were held at Bell Funeral Home there on Saturday p.m. with burial in the near-by cemetery. Mrs. Jordan was a native of Clay County was the widow of the late Dr. C.E. Jordan of Mellow Valley. She was a teacher here and later years taught at Sumiton until retiring age. She is survived by three sons, Darrell Jordan. Jimmy Jordan and Harry Jordan, all of the Birmingham area; seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ella Jordan, Mellow Valley, and one half-brother and four half-sisters, a host of nieces and nephews.

The following obituary is from The Lineville Tribune Thursday 5 June 1980: Mrs. Alice 0. Jordan Buried May 26 Mrs. Alice Ola Jordan, 87 a resident of Eutaw, and a former resident of Clay County, passed away Sunday May 25, 1980 in a Eutaw hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Monday, May 26, 1980 at 2 p.m. from the Lystra Baptist Church with Rev. Maynard Mooney of Alex City officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Brock Funeral Home directing. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Louise May of Eutaw; three sons, Borden Pereano Jordan of Alex City, John Albert Jordan of Macon GA, and Robert S. Jordan of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Mrs. Estelle Nichols and Mrs. Ruth Gaither both of Ashland; one brother, Julian Stephens of Selma; and nine grandchildren. Mrs. Jordan, wife of the late Zebus Pereano Jordan was a native and longtime resident of Clay County. She was retired from Southland Mfg. co. and a member of Lystra Baptist Church. Active pallbearers were her three sons, a grandson, Dylan Jordan, son-in-law Enoch May, and Lynn Gaither. Funeral arrangements by Brock Funeral Home.
