Marie was preceded in death by her parents James and Cynthia (Culpepper ) Burgin, brother Daniel F. Burgin Sr.,sister Loreet Burns, nephew Daniel F. Burgin Jr., and niece Bette Burgin. She is survived by her nieces Jo Nell ( Jack ) Burleson and Charlene Ball, great nieces Marsha Thurman, Shelley Sackett and Danise Rea,3 great-great nephews, 3 great-great nieces, 5 great-great-great nephews, and 1 great-great-great niece and her devoted friend Wen McKnight who tenderly cared for Miss Burgin. Marie retired from Memorial Hermann Hospital after 50 years of faithful service; followed by several years of volunteer service. She was a charter member of Willow Meadows Baptist Church. She dearly loved her family and friends and was truly loved in return. A celebration of her life will take place at Willow Meadows Baptist Church in the chapel on Thursday, June 28th at 10:00 A.M., followed by a graveside service at Forest Park Lawndale..1
