(Betty Lee Collins) Hale, is from p. 7 of Monthly Moultrie Observer Oct 1993: Allie Pearl Cooper Carroll Allie Pearl Cooper Carroll, 86, of Route 3, Pavo, died Sept. 8 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Memorial services were held Sept. 10 at Ione United Methodist Church, with burial in Westview Cemetery. The Revs. Marshall Singletary, James Davis and Walter Edwards officiated. Mrs. Carroll, a homemaker, had lived most of her life in Pavo. She was born in Brooks County on Jan. 31, 1907, to the late Daniel Otis Cooper and the late Essie Etta Cannon Cooper. Her husband was the late William Elmer Carroll, who died in 1965. She was a lifelong member of Ione United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Donald Leon Carroll, Hull; one daughter, Iris Carroll Edwards, Ft. Myers, Fla; one brother, Herbert Cooper, Pavo; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

(Betty Lee Collins) Hale is from p. 3A of the Weekly Moultrie Observer Wednesday 12 Aug 1992: Nathalie Truett Cooper Lifelong Colquitt Countian Nathalie Truett Cooper, 84, of Route 5, died Wednesday at Sunrise Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Services were held Saturday at Evelyn United Methodist Church, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery. The Revs. Thomas Newberry and R. V. Williams officiated. Pallbearers were Phil Hall, Mark Cooper, Wayne Reese, Jimmy Desselle, Patrick Cowan and Dale Tucker. Mrs. Cooper, a homemaker, was a member of Evelyn United Methodist Church and a native of Colquitt County, where she was born on Dec. 20, 1907. She was a daughter of the late James Isben Truett and the late Sudie Stallings Truett. Her husband was the late Mayo Cooper, who died Sept. 18, 1958. She is survived by one son, Darrell Cooper, Valdosta, three daughters, Merle Hall and Delores Cooper, both of Moultrie, Annette Booth, San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Inez Barber, Moultrie, Rubye Truett, Valdosta, and Edna McGee, Dallas, Texas; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at Ione United Methodist Church with the Revs. Marshall Singletary, Ed Huff and James Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon. Pallbearers will be Randall Nash, Leon Cooper, Darrell Cooper, Jimmy Revell, Glenn Hutchinson, Leon Powell Jr., Donald Carroll and Bob Booth. Son of the late Daniel Otis Cooper and the late Essie Etta Cannon Cooper, Mr. Cooper was born Sept. 30, 1919, in Brooks County. He was a retired rural mail carrier and a member of Ione Methodist Church. He was past president of the Kiwanis Club, the Rural Mail Carrier Association and the Pavo PTA. He also was a Sunday school teacher for the adult class and a World War II veteran. Survivors include his wife, Flora Nash Cooper; one son, LaVaughn Cooper, Pavo; one brother, Herbert Cooper, Pavo; stepbrother, Leon Powell Sr., Tallahassee, Fla; one sister, Allie Pearl Carroll, Moultrie; two stepsisters, Alice Rogers, Tallahassee, Fla., and Esther Hamm, Orlando, Fla; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
