She is listed on 1900 census with her grandfather, Joseph Hicks.
An undated note in the Exum files belonging to my family from Milton J. Brooks, 2014 Dartmouth Ave., Bessemer, AL 35020 states: “Bettie Sue married. They had 2 sons and a daughter who became a nun.”
On 5 Dec 1919 when Betty Sue was 20, she married Alzadore Randolph SOMMER, son of Daniel SOMMER & Margaret TONER, in St. Joseph Church, Mobile, AL.
