MALISSA JANE PRATER - Cherokee - was born 1840 in Russell County, Virginia. Her mother is MARGARET GRIFFITHS -Cherokee - She married FRANCIS MARION STEELE in 1858 in Virginia. She was born 1805 in Kentucky and died 1885 in Kentucky. Margaret was married to John Prater but he was said not to be the father of Malissa. Submitted by Judy Steele.
