The Elizabethtown News Columnist's cousin buys his old "stomping ground" By Arvil Goodman 862-4823 Our utmost sympathy goes to Mrs. Elsie Harned for the death of her husband Clarence Harned who passed away at th eNHE in Elizabethtown with burial in Hardin Memorial Gardens. I know that your home will be a very lonesome place without your husband, but it's God's will, not our's. May God bless you and keep you in my prayer. Mother and I had a visit from our new neighbor. Or rather will be next spring, Mrs. Tom (should say Lum) White and son Dannie of Prospect, Ky. They are the new owners of the farm that they brought from Mr. and Mrs. Chester Martin. I never was so surprised in all of my life to think that my cousins were the owners that had bought the farm ,better known to this writer as Beulah Mae Lindsey White. Beulah, I didn't know that it was you and your husband that had bought the place until one night this week when she and her son visited me and said that they were our new neighbors. Someone said that a White from Stephensburg that had bought it and she had told me later this spring that she was going to buy a farm in my community, and she did. Beulah and her husband are going to return next spring and when her youngest child, a daughter, will graduate from high school. And her son that was with her is in the Air Force and soon will have his service up and is going to come with them. So Tom (should say Lum) and Beulah we all welcome you to this community with all the best of luck. Beulah is the granddaughter of Uncle Fonce Jones, mother's brother. Her and her husband have lived around Prospect all of their life. Beulah, that's the farm that we moved to in 1917, when we moved into this community and is what I call the old stomping ground of my childhood days, so I will be glad when you move so I can come up and bring back memories of my younger days. I can show you many places that interested ....... the rest is about deaths in the area. | |
