~ Middle School track teams beat Westport ~ | |

The Oldham County Middle School track teams soundly defeated Westport in action April 19. The girls team won 79-21 winning 10 events. The girls lost the 880 relay, but won the 440 relay and the mile relay. Shannon Doyle scored 13 individual points winning the 100 yard dash in 12.2, the long jump in 16.1" and placing second in the 220 dash in 27.84. Stacia Roberts and Serena Snyder finished one-two in the mile, running 6:12.77 and 6:13 repectively. Diana White scored nine individual points winning the high jump in 4'2", placing second in the quarter mile in 74.42 and finishing third in the long jump in 13'1". She also ran on the winning mile relay team. Nancy Crutcher won the quarter mile in 66.68, Allyson Adams won the half mine in 3:05, Shay Wright won the two mile in 13:16.23, Betty Johnson won the shot in 26'10" and Dawn Job won the discus event in 70'91/2". The boys beat Westport 89-24 winning 11 events. The boys won all three relay races and swept five events. Chris Neuner won the 120 yard hurdles in 19.23. He was followed by Tony Gnadinger (19.95) and Tray Rankin (20.38). John Jackson won the 100 (11.44) and 220 yard (26.38) dashes and the long jump (18'11"). The Oldham boys swept the half mile with Jeff Watts winning in 2:34, followed by Keith Binzer 2?35 and Clay Jones 2.35.5. They also swept the high jump. Doug Crisp won the event with a jump of 4'8" and was followed by Jamie Keane and Daniel White at 4'6". The middle schoolers have invitational meets May 4 and 11. | |
