Descendants ofAnthony ROBEL
ANTHONY ROBEL was born in Bavaria, between 1780 to 1800. He married Katherine STEBS.
Some of the early records show the family name as Rubel. It
would appear that Frederick August Rubel/Robel and his four
brothers or cousins arrived in Wisconsin prior to 1850. Charles
F.; born 1812; Wolfgang, born 1815; Gottleib, and John Frank,
born about 1816. There is no proof these were brothers and they may not even be connected. I put them together to enable the program to follow the line. The records indicate that Wolfgang and John Frank were related:
(A.) John Frank Robel and Nanni had a son in 1853 and named him Wolfgang. (B) John Frank Robel was a Godfather for Anna Elizabeth, daughter of Wolfgang & Theresa in 1851. (C) John Frank Robel and Margaret Scherer were Godparents for John B. Robel, son of Wolfgang and Theresa, born in 1854.

Wolfgang and Theresa arrived in Quebec in August of 1847. (Citizenship documents #1383 and #1572) She would have been pregnant as their son, Claudius, was born on October 18, 1847 in Wisconsin. Although they were married 2 1/2 years later, in 1850, I was not able to find them in the 1850 Wisconsin census.
