hugs and kisses to my family helpers, Pam, Samantha, Jimmy Ray, Deloris, Bernice, Irma, Bobby, Stan, Wonda, Bonnie, Melody, Connie, Elaine, Martha, Chuck, Clarence, etc., and to Beverly for making tons of copies for my notebook, plus all the volunteers on the internet who take the time to help others :)
thank goodness for rootsweb, LDS and the usgenweb, enjoy the stories, family trees and such but please remember that people in the old days did not go to school and if they did, it was not very often; so they did not remember dates of birth and were not sure of the locations - some did not read nor write and often times did not know their grandparents or not sure of their origination, so that means even though we might find documents to prove our lineage we might also find some errors in them.....my grandma Lorena made lots of notes but gave her husband several dates of birth ! so I had to go by the census records and understand that my granny was poorly educated and might have had dyslexia - one of her fantastic little notes mentioned Joseph Marion McClain and Alice visiting on a Sunday so I hope that they all got to meet grandpa's half brother from Georgia - because I do think she named some of her children after them.
