Fluke, Jacob

     Died, on the 13th ist., at the residence of his son Mr. John A. Fluke, Mr. Jacob Fluke, aged about 87yrs. Deceased had been well known in Scott county for many years as a business man and trader. He was a member of the Christian Church, and had always lived an honorable life. He leaves several children and a host of friends and relatives to mourn his life. His remains were interred in the family burying ground at Mr. John A. Fluke, Permelia

     Mrs. Permelia Fluke, wife of Mr. J. Creath Fluke, died at her home on the Burton pike, about nine miles from Georgetown, on the 8th inst. After an illness of several months in the 64th year of her age. She leaves a husband and six children. Mrs. Albert McKnight, Mrs. Floring Glass, Mrs. Virgie Hampton, James, Bird and Andrew Fluke. She is also survived by a sister Mrs. Sam Moss, and a brother , Mr. Mike Adair.

     Funeral services wee conducted at the grave by Rev. H. C. Kendrick, and the remains buried in Georgetown Cemetery.  (this obit from Georgetown Times)

 

Fluke, Jacob Creath

     Mr. J. C. Fluke, aged 84 years, died Saturday afternoon of dropsy at his home on Stone Street. Mr. Fluke was a widower and is survived by the following children, Mrs. Ina Offutt, Mrs. George Jones, Mrs. J. H. Riddle, Mrs. Floren Glass, Mrs. A. J. McKnight, and Andrew and Jim Fluke.

     The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the grave in Georgetown Cemetery, conducted by Dr. I. M. Boswell, pastor of the Christian church. (obit from Georgetown Times)

 

Fluke, Isaac

     Mr. Isaac Fluke, of Georgetown, fell from an interurban car on its way from Lexington to Georgetown, on Tuesday afternoon of lat week, at the Oak Street crossing, Lexington. He was standing on the rear of the platform of the car, and as it was rounding a cure he fell to the ground. He was picked up in an unconscious condition and hurried to St. Joseph’s Hospital. It was found that there was a fracture at the base of his skull. An operation was performed the following day. He died Friday afternoon from the effects of the injury, never having regained consciousness. His family were with him at the time.

     Mr. Fluke lived in Georgetown and was formerly engaged in the hauling business. He was aged 42 years and was a son of Mr. J. C. Fluke. He is survived by a widow and five children, the oldest about 14 years of age.

     The remains were brought home for burial. The burial took place Sunday morning in the local cemetery. Services were conducted at the grave by Rev. M. B. Ainsworth. The pall bearers were Al Graves, Benj. Wright, Wm. Honaker, J. S. Lancaster, Howard Nutter and Harvey Giles.  (obit from Georgetown Times. Isaac is buried in Georgetown Cemetery. When I went there to get records for him I was told that there was a fire some years before and the record of where he is actually buried in the cemetery is unknown. We looked around where all the other family is laid to rest but found on grave markers. The cemetery has never found one either.)

 

Southworth, Armelda

     Mrs. Melda Southworth, aged 85 years died Tuesday at the home of her son in law, H. J. Riddle, near Delaplain.  The funeral took place this afternoon. (obit from Georgetown Times)
