Mrs. Catherine York of Columbia, TN reported the following in a November 1998 letter....

"About the birth of the Campbell Children in Scotland - this information came from Dr. Archibald Campbell's family bible which at one time was in the possession of the Brown Family - descendents of George W. Campbell (b. 1769 d. 1849), son of Dr Archibald Campbell.  I have a notation, of which I do not know the  source, that the place of origin was Sutherlandshire and they sailed from Loch Erriboll".

The cities of "Tongue" and "Litermore", as well as Loch Erriboll are located on the northernmost shore of Scotland in the general area identified by the yellow box.  Of note, this is distant from the traditional Campbell Clan lands (located in Southern Scotland).  The locations of the towns "Releaid" and "Anschoul" have not yet been identified.

I have recently discovered that this particular map is the work of Alan Madsen and John Suffill who deserve all credit for its fine presentation.
