THE STORY OF MY LIFE
"A Dog's Tale"
By Eduardo C. Parker - Aka "Eddie"

My friends, Jo and Peter Dunn set me up with this, my own web page.  They are nice people and Jo loves to work on the computer.  I thought it would be nice if everyone knew how I came about and a little bit about my life.  My official name is Eduardo C. Parker.  Everyone calls me Eddie.  I was named after a very nice man , named Eduardo, who I will refer to as Mr. Ed.  Mr. Ed found my mother walking the streets after she had been abandoned.  Mr. Ed gave my mother and her unborn pups a nice home with lots of love.  After we pups were born, Mr. Ed found good homes for all of us.  He had to retrieve my brother, Huey from what turned out to be an abusive home and now Huey lives with Mr. Ed.  I'm told that I was also named for my human Mom's dad,  Edwin C.  My last name comes from My Human Folks, Denis and Margie Parker.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself.  I must warn you, I tend to ramble on once I get started.  I was born August 20, 1995.  My mother is a beautiful chocolate brown poodle.  We believe my dad was a schnauzer.  They say I'm a "Snoodle".  Have you ever heard of such a thing!

I  remember the day well that my folks brought me to my new home.  Mom brought along a little green stuffed toy rabbit.  She held me tight all the way to my new home along with my rabbit.  I still have my rabbit and play with it everyday.  I take good care of all my toys and never tear them up. Whenever company comes over, I get my rabbit and show it to everyone.

Sometimes, when my folks go out of town, I stay with my human brother Randy and his wife Vickie and their boys, Barrett and Tice.  I love chasing squirrels in their backyard.  One time I stayed at the Vet while my folks were gone for a few days.  I did not like that at all.   I was sick for a week after I got home.  Mostly, I stay with   Mr. Ed when my folks insist on getting away.  I don't understand why I can't go with them.  I love Mr. Ed. He is  so good to me and the other dogs.  I must be special to Mr. Ed because he lets me sleep in his room with one of his other dogs Angela, while his other dogs stay in the den.  The den is very nice, but I like to be with Mr. Ed. I must admit, I have my folks wrapped around my paw.  I get lots and lots of  love.  Sleep anywhere I like during the day and at night I snuggle in bed with my folks.

I get to play outside everyday.  I chase ducks, watch the birds fly, bark at squirrels and try to catch dragons.  My folks say they are lizards, but they look like dragons to me.  One thing for sure, I do not like snakes.  We won't even talk about snakes because I still get nervous just thinking about them.  I don't like bats either.  One night  I chased a skunk and then I had to have several baths after that incident.  I don't think I will chase another skunk!  The possums are a nuisance but I caught one the other night and now we have one less.

We have nice neighbors and most of them like me.  I give kisses to anyone that likes me.  I try to be nice to everyone because I love to be petted and loved.

I go golfing with my folks.  I stay in the golf cart and I'm such a good boy. I have only got out of the cart twice.  One time when a storm was coming and I wanted to warn my folks. The other time ---I just had to go. When a fella has to go he has to go.  We also go for walks.  The walks I like best are when we go out on the golf course and I don't wear a leash.  I run and run and get dirty and mom insists I get a bath when we get home. When we walk the streets I have to be on a leash and walk right bedside Mom. That's not any fun.. I'm a boy and I want to explore.  I understand almost everything my folks say.  I heard them say I was one smart dog.

They have lots of names for me.  Eddie seems to be their favorite.  Some of my names are Eduardo, Edwin, Mr. Ed and Sidekick.  My dad calls me little man and mom calls me and dad her boys.  I know where they keep the treats and I've got that houndog look mastered.  They fall for it most of the time. Sometimes,  mom says "not until you eat your food".  I can't put anything past her.  Dad on the other hand is a softie.  Sometimes after mom goes to bed, dad and I sneak in the kitchen for a bowl of ice cream.  I love ice-cream, but mom says it is not good for dogs.  I thought I was her "boy".

Until next time or when I have something more to tell you, this is Eddie signing off!

THE END
