Additional Information

It is curious that Lupton and Bella were married in Rothwell, given that both families came from Pateley Bridge.
Perhaps Bella's family did not approve off a marriage to the Cowlings, who were of lower financial status.
Also Bella was already pregnant, their daughter Sally was christened 7 months after the wedding.
Perhaps it is a romantic idea - but maybe they ran away together to get married - but why Rothwell?
Lupton and Bella returned to Pateley and that is where all their children were baptised and where both are buried.
