Will details

Will of Anthony Wood, yeoman of Wilsil. Passed April 1796 (Vol. 140/152)
1. Daughters: Ann Chennels, Mary Feasby, Jane Wood to inherit leashold estate, (1 barn, Long Close, Carrs Closes & land called "Carrs Bottom", now in possession of son in law John Theasby/Feasby)

2. Son Anthony Wood to inherit leashold messuages, dwelling houses, barn & buildings and several closes of land called "Lease", "Field" & "Smelt Hill" (now in posession of son Wm Wood). On condition Anthony pay £12 per year to beloved wife Ann, 2 equal payments at May Day & Martinmas. Also £50 to be paid to daughter Jane 12 months after death of wife Ann.

3. Son Anthony & nephew John (son of brother William) to inherit copyhold tenement called "Bysill" near Wilsil with buildings, lands & appurtenances (now in possession of George Lupton), subject to conditions of will of John Lupton, yeoman, deceased.

4. Son Anthony to inherit all copyhold maltkiln with yards, nonts, hereditaments, (now in posession of son William Wood)

5. House on Green, High barn & Intacks situate in Lowbishopside (in posession of William Wood, sisters Mary, Margaret & Ellen), to them for life. After death of the longest liver - to Anthony Wood. Provided Anthony pays the following: £25 to daughter Ann, £25 to daughter Mary ,£25 to daughter Jane,£25 to granddaughter Arabella, (daughter of son William).

6. Wife Ann will have use and occupy leasehold messuage the kitching(?), the low parlour, washhouse, dairy, rooms above the same without paying rent or taxes. (After her death to Anthony).

7. Son William Wood - the sum of five shillings to be paid 12 months after his decease.

8. "To my dear beloved wife....all and every my bedstead, beds, bedding, linnen and woolen, thereto belonging and also my linnen and wearing apparol and also as much furniture as she shall choose to furnish her one large room".

9. Remainder to son Anthony and daughter Jane share & share alike.
