These members of my family were also casualties of the War. Although not on active duty, they were both reported to have been victims of the hostilities.
GAINES, RICHARD (father of Albert B. Gaines above) - taken prisoner and spent time in Union POW camp, possibly in Ohio. Died shortly after returning to Bartow Co.
CROW, WILLIAM (father of Laura Crow Lipscomb) - captured at his home in Bartow County, GA, by Union soldiers. Held prisoner in Chattanooga, TN, where he died of pneumonia at USA Hospital in January, 1865. (1)
