John remarried and died
on 5 Jan 1793 in Fenwick, Ayrshire.
This is John Howie, the
author, who wrote many books, including his most popular 'Scots
Worthies' which profiles many of the covenanters. There is an
obelisk erected to his memory at Lochgoin.
