Translation:

ARMS: *Gules (red), a (great) bustard Proper (natural color), holding in its beak a ring Or (gold), in sinister chief a **horizontal cartouche Argent (silver), inscribed with the letters M.G.H.

CREST: The (great) bustard, wings raised.

MANTLING: Argent (silver) and Gules (red).

..* Rietstap has it that the field is colored silver, but this makes no sense as the horizontal cartouche is also silver and the mantling is silver and red, yet no mention of red is made in the description of the shield...Therefore, ... the logical assumption is that the filed should be red and not silver as Rietstap describes it.

** Rietstap uses the curious term "carre oblong" (lit. "an oblong square"), rather than "canton" or "rectangle"...Rolland's illustration of this "oblong square" looks rather like a horizontal cartouche.
