NOTE:..Funeral Entry of MICHAEL CARMICK of that place, died in December 1635, son of JAMES CARMICK, of Learn, in the same county, second son of JAMES CARMICK, of Callan, co. Kilkenny, son of RICHARD CARMICK, of the same place.

ARMS:..Argent (silver), on a bend Sable (black), three escallops of the field (i.e., silver).

NOTE:..The younger branches of this family were the CARMINOWS of Boconnoc, the CARMINOWS of Fentongollan, the CARMINOWS of Resprin, in St. Winnow, the CARMINOWS of Trenowth, the CARMINOWS of Polmawgan, &c.

CREST:..A dolphin embowed Or (gold).

NOTE:..In the great Scrope and Grosvenor controversy temp. Richard II respecting the bearing of this coat, it was deposed by one witnesses that the same arms had been long borne by Carminowe, and was allowed by the Earl of Northampton, when the matter was brought before him in France.
