John S. Burgan
John S. Burgan, age 72 of Eighty Four, PA died unexpectedly Friday August
4, 2006 at his home. He was born January 8, 1934 in Washington, PA a son of
the late John H. and Helen Swagler Burgan. A 1952 graduate of Bentleyville
High School, Mr. Burgan received a Bachelor Degree in Business from the
University of Pittsburgh in 1969. Mr. Burgan was a U.S. Army veteran. He owned
and operated the Burgan Farm in Eighty Four his entire life. Farming was his
passion. In 2003 he retired from the Social Security Administration after 33
years of service. While employed he worked in both the Charleroi and
Washington offices as a Claims Representative. In addition to farming he also
enjoyed hunting. On November 10, 1961 he married Gertrude Krisko Burgan, who
survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons - John A. Burgan and
Bob Burgan, both of Eighty Four, PA; One sister - Ruth Jacob of Cincinnati,
OH; Several Nieces and Nephews. Friends will be received in the Greenlee Funeral
Home 619 Main St. Bentleyville, PA on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm and on Monday
from Noon to 1:00 PM the hour of service.
Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela, PA.
