This site focuses on how folks lived their lives,

the occupations they had, where they attended church, and their families.

Since many in my family died after struggling for years with diabetes,

I decided to included a page on this lifelong condition.

Some Diabetics may feel like this when first diagnosed....

Photo with of extra-large person wearing T-shirt inscribed: I Beat Anorexia

Understanding diabetic needs around food is not easy!

Ever feel like this?

Cat hungrily hovering over fishbowl

Puppy with his head and half his body stuck into a can of food
Yes, those hunger pains are bad.  Bad kitty!   You know you wanted to do this late at night.  Admit it - we all do!

Many people hate exercise, even to the point of wanting to lay back,

and indulge in food dropped from above...

Cat laying on back, with mouth wide open

And we all know this feeling when we forget to eat healthy....

Ashamed puppy

When you need encouragement...

remember you don't want to become this 'cat'....

HUGE cat,must weigh 50 pounds

EAT RIGHT

EXERCISE

TEST REGULARLY

Don't let Diabetes and it's complications

sneak up on you!

Don't let Diabetes continue to affect your "Family Tree."

You will also find some information about Washington Co. towns, boroughs and villages and persons who lived in those areas in the Town-Talk pages.  I do not know all the towns, so if you want to do a write-up I would appreciate it.

See Washington PA Uptown Landmarks -1 for North Main Street and Uptown Landmarks -2 for South Main St. in a walking tour-description of buildings and places.  These descriptions are personal perspectives, with some early history.  Learn about the Washington Hospital (under construction) and the Washington Hospital School of Nursing - (Personal Perspectives).   I hope to add more biographical sketches of graduates of the Washington Hospital School of Nursing.

This website also focuses on the lives of individuals and families associated with the Ten Mile Church of the Brethren, Marianna, Washington Co., PA.

The background was chosen specifically to emphasize the matriarchal role of women in "the life" of children and families, and the resilience of all the women of southwestern Pennsylvania.
