PRESBYTERIAN CHRISTIAN ENDEAVORERS PLAN TO ATTEND ANNUAL RETREAT
A large group of Presbyterian Christian Endeavorers are planning to attend the annual Young People's Retreat, scheduled for September 11 and 12 at Camp Buffalo. The theme of the retreat will be "All This With Christ," and to date, nineteen members of the Presbyterian society have registered for the two-day program.
Announcement of the Retreat was made last night at the weekly Endeavor meeting. Mrs. Parm HILL was leader for the meeting and chose as her subject "Let Us Learn To Know God." Miss Helen MOTYSKI rendered as a vocal solo "My Task," accompanied at the piano by Louise BUCHANAN, and Bee GERARD and Betsy HOSTETLER sang a duet "God, Who Touchest Earth With Beauty."
Devotions were conducted by several members of the society, who, after reading various passages of scripture, gave poems relating to nature. Those taking part were Clara CLARK, Zeta NICKESON, Minnie CORAN, Ada RECONNU, Margaret CARSON, Wilmina HOUSEMAN, Louise BUCHANAN and Theresa DIXON.
Mrs. HILL, leader of the evening, then conducted a True and False quiz, with members of the group participating.
A new member, Paul LEWIS, was welcomed into the society last night.

The article states, in part: "Christian Endeavor is 54 years old. It now has 4,000,000 members throughout the world, representing 90 Protestant sects. If cinema and radio have cut into its oldtime following, it nevertheless still commands the loyalty of a sizeable slice of U. S. youth. Christian Endeavorers attend weekly devotional and inspirational meetings, do welfare work such as packing bags for soldiers & sailors at Christmas."
Note: The society was founded in by Pastor Francis E. Clark, January 1881, in Portland
