MRS. RALPH G. JOHNSON
Adella Barnes Johnson, 87, of 25 Redstone Lane, Washington, died at 11:55 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 1975 in her home following a lingering illness.
She was born April 22, 1887, in Evanston, Ill., a daughter of James Milton [Barnes] and May CURTIS Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Washington, and a member of the Board of Directors of the R. G. Johnson Company and Kelly Industries.
She attended the schools of Evanston and graduated in 1909 from Northwestern University, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta social seniority.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the national and local boards of the Young Women's Christian Association, and was active in Family Service and many other civic organizations.
On November 5, 1910, she was married in Evanston to Ralph G. Johnson. He died April 22, 1942.
Surviving are two daughters, Marian Thistle Woodfield, Delray Beach, Fla., and Priscilla, wife of J. Donald Patton, Pittsburgh; one son, Woodruff B. Johnson, Washington; 13 grandchildren and eight grandchildren. One son, R. Grant Johnson, died August 4, 1974, and a sister, Alice Barnes Garnett is deceased.
