| Cougars Set To Don Grid Togs 1st Time
After three days of workouts in shorts, Charleroi High's 1951 footballers will be ready to don mole-skins and sweat-shirts for the first time this season tomorrow morning. The Cougars, 52 strong, are undergoing two-a-day sessions at the Stadium until Sunday when they'll switch training sites to Somerset for one week, returning home Saturday, Sept. 1.

More Fundamentals Head Coach James (Rab) CURRIE and his aides, Frank LEE, Frank DeCOSTER and Jim FILLINGHAM, sent their charges through another lengthy drill on fundamentals coupled with dummy scrimmage yesterday. Prior to each workout, the squad is sent through rugged callisthenics for conditioning purposes. Only casualty in the CHS camp thus far is Sophomore Jack FILLINGHAM, who suffered a sprained ankle during yesterday's afternoon session. The former Fallowfield Township star is expected to be sidelined for several days. Camp Time Nears On Sunday, the Cougars will go to Somerset, while Monessen takes off for Alliance College at Cambridge Springs, where the Pittsburgh Steelers train. |
