Records

An index of burials through Nov. 1978 was previously published in Tombstone Inscriptions and Burial Lots, Jefferson County, W.VA. 1687-1980, Bee Line Chapter, NSDAR. Charles Town, WV; Walsworth Publishing Company, Marceline, MO, USA, 1981, pp. 247-263. I have added notes [blue] from this published source where additional information was available, or where tombstones legible in November 1978 werepartially obscured in December 2002. I hope these additions make the records more useful to researchers. I am willing to share copies of my original transcription worksheets which reflect the, sometimes less complete, information as it exists on the cemetery stones.

"Map #" corresponds to Map above. If a line is not numbered, the inscription is on the same stone as the line above it.
"Other inscriptions" are any relationships, memberships, vocation or avaocation describved on the stone. Poetry, verse, and standard funerary inscriptions are excluded; however, if they were decipherable, the complete inscriptions was recorded on my original transcription worksheet for each stone, and I am willing to share copies of those worksheets.
