submitted by Dick Halsey (Click the picture for a larger view.) This is the house that was built by Matthew Halsey (1725-1802) on Lumber Lane in Bridgehampton. NY. According to the "Halsey Genealogy," it was moved to its present site sometime in the 1800s from a hollow a little further to the south. I took this photo in 1979. I went back to see it in 1995 but the hedges were so tall that it was impossible to see most of the house.
