Description:
The American Agriculturist was well known for its
informative and insightful weekly newspaper devoted to
the news of agriculture. Annually a farm directory for
most farming communities was published by newspaper. This
database is the contents of the American Agriculturist
Farm Directory of 1914 for the New York counties of
Yates, Schuyler, Tompkins, and Seneca. It contains over
15,300 records which provide the name of the individual
or firm, wife's name, the number of children over 21
years of age, the occupation of the individual, any
boarder names, and the county or township of farm. This
database will assist in locating family members who may
have been part of the farming community in New York in
1914.
