Formed in 1662, Norwich is located in eastern Connecticut, in the county of New London. This database is a transcription of city directories originally published in 1887, 1888, 1889, 1890 and 1891. In addition to providing the resident's name, it provides their address and occupational information. It includes the names of over 49,000 people, mostly heads of households. For the researcher of ancestors from eastern Connecticut, this can be an extremely valuable collection.
