William Frederick Halsey, Sr. Captain, United States Navy
Born at New York City, April 11, 1853. He won the Sampson Medal and Bar, Spanich Campaign Medal, Philippine Campaign Medal, the Victory Medal and a letter of commendation from the Navy Department for services during World War I.

He died on June 11, 1920 at his home in Washington, D.C. and was buried in Section 2 of Arlington National Cemetery. His son, William F. "Bull" Halsey, is buried beside him.

His wife, Anne Masters Brewster Halsey, is buried with him.
