CHARLES ANDREW
HALSEY
Enlisted September 12, 1861 in 36th Regiment of the
Illinois Volunteers, in battles of Pea Ridge, Perryville,
Stone River, Murfreesboro, and Chicamauga, under General
Rosecrans, Missionary Ridge, Lookout Mountain under
General Grant.
Also in battles of Dalton,
Reasaca, Adairsville and Dalls, Georgia under General
Sherman.
Wounded 20 miles north of
Atlanta (near Dallas) May 23, 1864,
which shattered his left arm while providing cover
for units moving to cross a stream.
