was born 19 May 1828 in Seneca County, New York,
and died 02 February 1915 in Clinton County, Michigan.
He married (1) CELIA A. WALKER
03 November 1853 in Webster,Clinton County, Michigan. She
was born 1828, and died 18 November 1858 in Clinton
County, Michigan.
He married (2) EUNICE JACOBS
Abt. 1859. She was born 1825, and died 18 September 1861
in Clinton County, Michigan.
He married (3) ELECTA LOUISE
WALKER 18 February 1862 in Danville, Michigan. She was
born 13 September 1837 in Dexter, Michigan, and died 02
February 1914 in Clinton County, Michigan.

Obituary for
WARREN HALSEY
Warren Halsey passed away at 8:00 Saturday morning at the
home of his daughter, Mrs. John Coffman, aged 86 years, 8
months and 7 days. He was the oldest of ten children born
to Peter Halsey and Mary (Van Vleet) Halsey. He was born
at Lodi, Seneca County, New York.
At the age of 13 years, he removed with his parents to
Dexter, Lima Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan. He
went to California in 1851 by way of Panama and when on
the Pacific Ocean the boat was becalmed and they drifted
for about ten days. They endured many hardships, ration
becoming so short that they were reduced to two teaspoons
of beans and one pint of water per day. He stayed in
California two years, taking up gold claims and selling
again, meeting with success. He returned by the overland
route to his home in Dexter.
In early life he was converted and joined the Baptist
Church and he always retained his Christian Faith. On
November 3, 1853 he was united in marriage to Celia A.
Walker of Webster, who departed this life, November 18,
1858. To this unoin two children were born, Frank Halsey
of Riley Township and Florence, who died in infancy, aged
5 months, 18 days.
He was again united in marriage to Mrs. Eunice Jacobs of
Riley who died September 8,1861. On February 16,1862 he
was united in marriage to Electa L. Walker of Dansville,
Michigan. They resided in Bengal 44 years. While there he
held several township offices. Nine years ago they moved
to St.Johns where they resided until Mrs Halsey's death
which occurred just one year ago, after which he moved to
the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Coffma.
To this union were born seven children, three sons and
four daughters, one son, Willie, died in infancy and
Henry, of Olive died about seven years ago. The children
who survive him are Mrs. Cora Gerberich of Marion, Mrs
Emma Huggett of Olive, Mrs Luna Coffman and Charlie
Halsey of Bingham and Mrs. Sylvia Cheney of near Ithaca.
Besides his children,he is survived by twenty
grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, one brother
Charlie Halsey of Pontiac and three sisters, Mrs. Louise
Cooper of Port Huron, Mrs. Maggie Stanton of Diamondale
and Mrs. Mary Lyon of St. Johns.
He was kind and loving and will be greatly missed by his
children and a host of friends and neighbors who are left
to mourn their loss.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at 11:00
o'clock Tuesday morning, Reverend G.S. Northrup of
Williamston officiating. Internment was made in St.
John's, Michigan.

Consumption was the cause of death of Celia Halsey.
Eunice Halsey died in childbirth.
Burials are in St. Johns Cemetery.
