a) Isaac Pangborn (1/4/1794-11/23/1869) bur. Curry’s Graveyard, Forward Twp., Allegheny Co., PA,  m. 11/2/1820, Susan Hill. Isaac learned the millwright trade with Amos Robbins and followed that occ. for many yrs. Later he bought the Robbins Mill and began operations on his own account, and at the same time carried on the building business. He built the Walker Mill at Elizabeth and many others of the old time mills of Allegheny and Washington Co’s. About 1822 he bought and completed the famous Pangborn Mill near Lock No. 3 and carried on a very extensive milling and cooperage business there. He built a fine dwelling house there and the declining years of this couple were passed there. They were among the initial members who organized the Baptist Church at Elizabeth, and Isaac was one of the 1st board of deacons chosen

He enlisted in August 1862 in Co. E , 155th Reg. , PA Vol. Inf. and served with his regiment until the close of the war. He was one of the detail app’ted to receive the parole of Lee's surrendered army at Appomatox. He kept a journal of daily events while in the service and was an authority on the history of his regiment which is published . He was an active member of the Grand Army and the Union Veteran Legion. After the war, he went to Beaver Falls, Beaver Co., PA, where elected burgess several terms and a most respected resident. m. Mary Roberts
