Thomas came to Hickman Co., KY from Anderson Co., KY in 1838, traveling by covered wagons and rafts on the Ohio & Mississippi rivers, then on a creek to reach the 97 acres of uncleared land he had purchased to homestead. Besides his family Thomas also brought his slaves & with their help timber was cut to build a log cabin to be their home & to house the slaves. In 1860 this cabin was taken down and rebuilt on its present site on Cardie Simmons farm where the last 3 ch. were born. res. on Cardie Simmon farm, south of Clinton. Agnes was an old-time midwife & was known as “Aunt Aggie.” They built a log cabin using slaves. Agnes was listed in the census of 1850 in Hickman Co., KY. (See Story Section)

(Wilson) Williams.  When they were m. he was employed as bookkeeper on a ferry which moved trains of the M&O RR across the Mississippi River from MO to KY from a port in Hickman, KY. They lived there til 1907. He became the owner of Williams Hardware which he operated tim his d. His sons both worked with Will in the store & con't. to run it after his death til it was sold 12/1981. Agnes was 1st Avon lady in Hickman Co., making sales & deliveries by horse & buggy. In 1960 she received a gift for being the oldest living Avon lady in US. She also raised & sold flowers in Fulton, KY & Cairo, IL, shipping them by train. 
(1) Jefferson Egbert Williams (6/7/1903-5/10/1981) bur. Clinton, KY, m. Killian Kendal, no ch. Besides operating the hardware store he also had a John Deere Agency in Fulton, KY. He also built the Rancho Motel in Clinton and owned a restaurant as well as several other business buildings.

Clinton, KY, occ. merchant,  m. 9/4/1938, St. Louis, MO, Dorothy Morris Jones, b. 9/2/1918 bank bookkeeper, dau. of Thomas Drew & Novella Rowena (Morris) Jones. worked on family history.  At 8 yrs old he was given the nickname "Polly" & most of Hickman Co. , KY knew him by that name. After high school he attended the Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, OH, playing the piano, trumpet, trombone, guitar & banjo. He traveled several years playing in dance bands in TX, AL, AR, & TN. After his father's d. he returned to Clinton to help his brother with the hardware store. In the early '30s he had a dance band "Polly Williams & His Orchestra" Active members Central Christian Church of Clinton til moving to Orlando, FL in 1982.

John Springate signed m. bond, either her father or brother. res. in Woodford Co. KY 1827, (the Egbert neighborhood was evidently on both sides of the dividing line between Mercer and Anderson Co., which was cit from Franklin & Mercer in 1827 & part of Franklin was taken from Woodford in 1794. He was minor in 1790, 1791-2 when his father’s estate was settled. Sarah remar. 1817, Richard Phillips. James’ estate wasn’t settled until all ch. became adult in 1832, settlement to Sally Phillips, widow, Delancey C., Oliver C., James Prather& Mary (Egbert) his wife, Arthur & James T.
