He married Mary M. Bettis 5 September 1913 in Stone County, Arkansas.⁽⁶⁸⁾ Mary is the daughter of Jesse B. Bettis and Martha A. Hatfield. The following biographical sketch of W.T. Bracy was published in the Centennial History of Arkansas:

"W.T. Bracy, who is filling the position of mayor of Calico Rock, is also engaged in the produce business there and his activities as a business man and as a citizen have established him high in public regard as one of the representative residents of the community. Arkansas numbers him among her native sons, his birth having occurred at Batesville, in Independence county, September 15, 1887, his parents being Lewis Jackson and Sarah Elizabeth (McSpealen) Bracy, who are also natives of Independence county. There the father engaged in farming and stock raising and is still active along that line of business, giving supervision to his farm. His landed possessions are extensive and his careful management of his business affairs has won to him a substantial measure of success. Both he and his wife occupy the old homestead near Batesville, the former having reached the age of sixty-two years and the latter the age of fifty-eight. Mr. Bracy has never been active in politics as an office seeker but served on one occasion as chairman of the democratic state central committee. He is also a Civil war veteran and fraternally he is both a Mason and an Odd Fellow, while he and his wife, in religious faith, are connected with the Missionary Baptist church. Their family numbers ten children: W.T., of this review; Myrtle, the wife of E.E. Esteb, superintendent of schools at Bethesda, Arkansas; Lorenzo Jeff, a farmer of Oklahoma; Charles Wesley, a farmer of Bethesda, Arkansas; Winnie Elizabeth, the wife of Donald Westfall, a railroad man at Cushman, Arkansas; Lucian, a veteran of the World war, now at home; Addine, the wife of Jackson Anderson, a farmer of Bethesda; Ebert J., a civil engineer of New Mexico; Emmett and Luther, both at home. "In his youthful days W.T. Bracy attended the schools of Independence county and afterward spent a year in study in Ouachita College at Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He then worked upon his father's farm to the time of his marriage, after which he was employed for a brief period at Newport, Arkansas. Later he entered the produce business in Batesville, where he remained for about a year, and in 1917 removed to Calico Rock, where he entered the poultry and egg business, in which he has since been engaged, meeting with a substantial measure of success. He has built up a good trade and the careful management of his business affairs is bringing to him a gratifying annual competence. "On the 5th of September, 1913, Mr. Bracy was married to Miss Mary M. Bettis, a native of Stone county, Arkansas, and a daughter of Jesse B. and Martha A. (Hatfield) Bettis, who were also natives of Stone county. The father was a Civil war veteran, serving as a cook in the army, and surrendered at Jackson Port, Arkansas, at the close of the war, after which he walked the entire distance to his home in Stone county, Arkansas. He then engaged in farming there until his death at the age of eighty-two years. His widow still occupies the old home place near Oneal, Arkansas. To Mr. and Mrs. Bracy has been born a son, Truett. "Mr. Bracy has always voted with the democratic party and is now serving for the second term as mayor of Calico Rock, managing municipal affairs with the same capability, thoroughness and sound judgment that characterizes the control of his private business interests. He and his wife belong to the Missionary Baptist church and fraternally he is connected with the Woodmen of the World and with the Masons, having attained the thirty-second degree of the Scottish Rite. He has always been loyal to high standards and advanced principles and the sterling worth of his character has established him in an enviable position in the regard of his fellow townsmen, who are now benefiting by his efficient service as one of the public officials of Calico Rock."
