I'M FREE

Don't Grieve for me, now I'm free,
I am following the path God laid for me,
I took His hand when I heard His call,
I turned my back, and I left it all.

I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play,
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I've found that peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow,
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, Good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lenghten it with undue grief,
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.

(Psalm 142

Oh, Lord my God in life's dark prison,
No help is found and so I cry aloud to Thee.
There is no refuge from my past,
Till You bring me home at last,
And I acknowledge
It's Your blood which sets me free.

You know the sins and faults which bind me
In this dark prison so I cry aloud to Thee.
You are the refuge from my past,
And You'll bring me home at last,
For I acknowledge it's Your blood
Which sets me free.

I praise Your name, Oh God, my Saviour,
Because You loved me
And You always lifted me.
You changed my sorrow into peace
When this captive found release.
Now from my prison I forever will be free!

My friend and cousin Doris passed away this morning,

May she rest in peace, in the company of saints and angels,
and in the sure and certain Love of our Lord. Godspeed, Doris!
