Since King James 1 of England urged or forced thousands of Scottish Protestants to populate Northern Ireland, our McCreary has crossed the North Channel of the Irish Sea. Meanwhile, Swedish nobles persuaded thousands of Finns including Markku Sigfridsson to help settle Sweden's central woodlands. The only other change is that Mersch fled religious persecution in the heavily Catholic Luxembourg, crossing the Mosel river to the more Protestant-friendly German Palatinate.
