The first bloc of Ukranian settlement in Saskatchewan was established in 1897 when 150 Families arrived in the canora district from western Ukraine. Ottawa had specified that ------ Ukranian immigrants frist settle in Alberta and Manitoba where the Ukranian culture and language were still left alive. Ths Many people know Canora as a Ukranian Town. The distinctive domes on many churches in the area are a lasting feature of the settlement. |
