It all started on a cold dreary rainy night. The moon was in full bloom, however you just couldn't see it, winter had set in well and all the familiar trails were frozen over. The merchants in town had earlier put up their 'going home' signs and the movie houses and drive in theatres weren't invented yet along with TV's and radios. Mamma had cooked up a big ole kettle of venison stew with some of the last of the garden vegetables. The aroma was delightful. We had already eaten a bit earlier and I was sittin in my easy chair smokin my pipe and the little missus was workin her spinnin wheel we acquired last year from a travelin tinker out of Missouri. She said she loved it and proved it by makin sure all my socks were darned real well. I suppose with all things considered we started gettin a little frisky. Well before we knew it, there were 14 children running around the place. Of course some are married off by now and havin their own children. The others are finishin up the last minute chores and the youngins are up in the loft gettin their needed sleep. I'm lookin over at Ma feelin a little frisky again and she's lookin at me shakin her head. So I enjoy smokin my pipe a while longer before hittin the hay cause mornin's comin early and the wood pile's lookin a little depleted.
