Olwyn was born in Manchester, England Thursday 19th March 1942. Olwyn is the daughter of Harry SMITH and Olwyn REYNOLDS. At 19 years of age Olwyn became the mother of Janet HINCHLIFFE Monday 15th May 1961. At 21 years of age Olwyn became the mother of Joanne HINCHLIFFE in Stockport, Lancashire, England, Friday 23st June 1963. At 27 years of age Olwyn became the mother of Johnathan Matthew HINCHLIFFE Saturday 28th June 1969.
At 26 years of age Graham became the father of Janet HINCHLIFFE Monday 15th May 1961. At 28 years of age Graham became the father of Joanne HINCHLIFFE in Stockport, Lancashire, England, Friday 23st June 1963. Here follows a brief biography:I will try to keep our story short
and interesting as I know our lives always seem much more interesting to
us than others. so here goes. I would first like to address the name
change from Hinchliffe to Kelly. Well, I was married once before when I
was quite young and it didn't work out, though the name change worked well
for me in my business, so I kept it. Now as far as John and I meeting, we
danced together in our very first professional show back in 1981, for MGM.
John was 22 and I was 17 years old. The show was called "HELLO
HOLLYWOOD HELLO", and we performed at the MGM hotel in Reno, Navada.
It was the largest show we have ever performed in, with a cast of 150
singers and dancers. It was quite a spectacular show and John and I
actually danced together as partners. After a year in the show, John moved
on, dancing in Spain and Italy for about three years. He worked in various
shows and dance companies as well as doing some T.V. work in Italy. He
lived in Madrid in Spain, and in Verona in Italy. He also learned to speak
both languages fluently while he live there. I stayed in the show for 5
years performing 2 shows a night for 6 days a week. I then moved to Las
Vegas, where I danced in the "Lido De Paris", "Jubilee"
(another MGM show), and some other smaller cabaret style shows. I also did
the BOB HOPE pre Olympic show in Seoul, Korea in 1988. This job gave me
the travel bug so I decided to work on cruise ships for a while. I loved
the ships, and ended up doing 5 world cruises. It wasn't until 1993 that I
was sent to Japan to work on the Japanese ship owned by the company I had
been working for, Crystal Cruises. It is there that John and I met again,
after 12 years. We danced together as partners again and soon became a
couple. it was great, as we didn't work much during our stay on ship, so
we had a lot of free time together to explore and enjoy Japan. I was
transferred after four months though to another ship and it was a year
before we decided to be together for good and start our lives together. We
both danced in shows in Las Vegas at the Luxor and the Sahara and we then
retired as dancers to pursue new careers and a family.. We were married on
September 7th, 1997, in Malibu, California. We had a small wedding, but
all the family came over from England for a few weeks and we had a great
time. It was a day to remember and a dream come true.
John is from Los Angeles (born and raised here) and we moved back together in 1995. John now works for N.B.C. in Editing and Credit Design. He started out in Computer Animation about four years ago and has been fortunate in finding consistent work in his field since then. He is really striving for a full time gig as an editor for T.V. and movies with one of the primary studios or T.V. networks. It is a tough business, but we keep working toward where we want to be. I became a floral designer and still work for special events, holidays and weddings, but my real purpose in life is as a full time mother. We have our wonderful little girl, Catrina Mechelle, who is the joy of our lives and certainly keeps mommy on the go. She was born August 24th, 1999, and has been my main focus since that day. I love being a mom and hope we can have another baby someday soon.
Well, that is our story till now. We live about twenty minutes from downtown L.A., in a little town (little by L.A. standards that is). We enjoy life here, it is certainly full and busy, but there are so many beautiful places in California and we try to take advantage of the state we live in. The weather here is pretty nice all year but the summertime, June through October, is very hot.
