He may be the Francis Purdy born to John Purdy and Arice (Anice?) Taylor at Brundall, Norfolk, but the connection has not been established. His birth date, birth place, and parents are unknown. He may also be the Francis Purdy mentioned in 1644-1645 (and would have been married by 1644-1645) when a Francis Purdy and his wife Mary were witnesses to the will of a William Frost.
