Read or Sign the 'Tilberia' Guestbook
PLEASE NOTE: at 29 December 2006 - the search facility is now re-indexed and should cover all but new pages; however... the spider engine went overboard in its efforts and included pages from genealogy in family, and vice-versa, so you'll find more than you may expect! For a specific name, use "Family search" and put the name between quotes, e.g. "Robert Tilbury". (Caroline, siteholder)
The purpose of my website is to try to group Tilbury families, which is difficult because even with copies of certificates there may be erroneous attributions: the Buckinghamshire Tilburys in particular used the same given names, lived in the same places, had the same occupations ... and wives with the same given names. Place of birth or marriage for an individual may vary from one transcription to another, yet be the same person. Civil registration may have been later than the quarter of birth. Deaths were not always registered at the time, but sometimes only when the surviving spouse wished to re-marry. One person's received mythology may be the clue to a series of past events which would otherwise remain inexplicable. I have, to date, a list of about 40 variants on the family name. Your co-operation would be greatly appreciated, in order to prevent others from being mislead, break those brickwalls, find missing links. I cannot research every family myself, know that all those who contribute do so in good faith, and hope that by sharing they will help others and/or find missing branches of their own trees.
