I have a question about my great grandparents name. My grandfather's last name was Chu. However, in my mother's birth certificate, it says that my great grandmother was named Yi Cuan or Ley Cuan. I know Cuan is last name Kwong, but I am not sure about Yi or Ley. Are those common Cantonese first names?
Now my great grandfather, his name appears as Yat Chan. Shouldn't it be Chu Yat-Chan. Chu our family last name and Yat Chan his first name, is Yat-Chan a real first name? what about Jat-Chin? Please help. Thanks.
