Hi. I am a Hakka residing in Singapore, My hometown is Pu Kak or Buji as it
is known now. We lost all contact with our relatives in China a long time
ago. The only relative to have travelled to our hometown is my late uncle.
He visited Buji more than 25 years ago. My brother visited the town last
year whilst on a business trip to Shenzhen. Unfortunately, he was not able
to locate it as all the landmarks my late uncle told us about were no longer
there. The taxi driver who ferried my brother around confirmed that almost
all the old buildings in that area were demolished and redeveloped. Can
anyone advise me if there is a municipal agency that can help me look for my
ancestral home and contact my relatives? Thanks.
