My name is David Bellamy and my Dad Peter (London) recently sent me a copy of a Bellamy family tree going back to 1690, which one of my relatives has put together (maybe you did it?). My GGG Grandfather was Captain John Bellamy, GG Grandfather was Charles Barnet Bellamy, G Grandfather John William Bellamy and Grandfather Henry William Bellamy.
We may even have met. I remember a party that my Grandfather had at my Dads house when I was a kid - he invited family from all over England and Wales and it lasted all weekend. Were you there?
I'd be very interested to know if you got any further with your enquiries. I emigrated to Tasmania in 1989 (from South Norwood, London) and would love to know if John had any trips to Hobart, which has a rich maritime history. I emailed the Australian National Maritime museum today with an enquiry and might try and track down some records in Hobart.
Hope to hear from you
