VLucas Yon was my grandfather. Hew went to PR from Spain. Children:Josefa Yon de Gomez, Lucia Yon de Rivera, Diomedes Yong Wing, Angela Yon Defendini, (remarried and took Marks last name) Alejandrina Yon de Rivera, Esperanza Yon de Gonzalez, Rafael Yon, Lucas Yon, Jose Yon. We still have relatives in Cayey and Guayama. Most of them are scattered all over PR and the US. My grandfather was involved in exporting tobacco to the US (General Cigar Co.)He was the first Spanish citizen to relinquish his citizenship to become an Amereicaqn Citizen in PR (maybe in Cayey). He is also the subject of case in the Colegio de Leyes Universidad de Puerto Rico. In this case he sued his oldest daughter Josefa Yon. Reason: He did not want her to marry Lorenzo Gomez from Gurabo because Lorenzo was poor. You see, my Grandfather was a very rich man, but unfortunately he was a lady's man. We do have many other relatives by his lover. If you would like more information please contact me. Perhaps we can have a Yon family reunion in the near future.
